The No. 5-seeded UMass Minutemen and No. 3 Stanford Cardinal face off Tuesday in a NIT semifinal contest in Madison Square Garden (7 p.m. ET on ESPN2). The winner of the contest advance to player either No. 1 Washington Huskies or No. 6 Minnesota Golden Gophers in the NIT final on Thursday.

The Minutemen are making their first appearance in the NIT Final Four since 2008, when they made the Championship Game. This will be the programs third NIT Final Four, as in '91 UMass played Stanford in the semifinals and lost 73-71.
