Obama Bracket 2012: The President Makes His Picks

For the fourth consecutive year at the White House, President Barack Obama took out his marker and made his picks for the nation.

With ESPN's Andy Katz, Obama believes North Carolina will take the glory. This might be a good omen for the Tar Heels as last time Obama picked them, Roy Williams was cutting down the nets a few weeks later.

The rest of his Final Four is Missouri, Kentucky and Ohio State.

The president doesn't believe Syracuse can overcome the loss of Fab Melo long term, picking them to be ousted by Ohio State in the Elite Eight. Not surprisingly, he just couldn't find a way to pick Long Island University to upend Michigan State.

Obama doesn't believe in too many of the mid-majors this season, with VCU being his lowest seeded team to win a game as a 12-seed.

Interestingly enough, he did select every 10-seed to beat their opponent in the second round, but none to reach the Sweet Sixteen.

Obama's dark-horse is North Carolina State, who he believes will see the second week.
