Salsa-dancing sensation Victor Cruz of the New York Giants is wasting no time cashing in on his new-found fame and on the 2012 Super Bowl title the Giants won Sunday night by defeating the New England Patriots, 21-17.
IMG Worldwide, an agency specializing in sports, fashion and media, announced today that it has signed the 26-year-old star to what is likely to be a lucrative deal. IMG also represents Gisele Bundchen -- yep, Mrs. Tom Brady.
"I'm very pleased to be represented by IMG," Cruz said in a statement Monday. "They have a great reputation around the world. They have represented some of the most iconic athletes across a myriad of sports and I am honored to be among them."
Cruz set a franchise record this season with 1,536 receiving yards. He was recognized as the Vizio Top Value Performer as he played for a salary of $405,000 in 2011.
Those days, however, are gone. It is time for Cruz to cash in.
