Stay connected for news and updates

The Syracuse Orange men's basketball team retained its position at No. 2 in Week 14 of the college basketball rankings on Saturday, trailing only Kentucky in both major polls.

Syracuse received two out of 65 first-place votes in the AP Top 25 poll, but Kentucky received the other 63. The Wildcats were a unanimous decision atop the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll, followed by Syracuse, Ohio St., Missouri and North Carolina.

Syracuse won its only game during the past week, blasting St. John's 95-70 on the road in the return of Fab Melo. Melo returned from a brief academic leave to score a career-high 14 points while adding three rebounds and two blocks against the Red Storm.

The Orange next meet Georgetown on Wednesday at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
