Bill Parcells Not Elected To Pro Football Hall Of Fame In 2012

With less than 24 hours until the 2012 Super Bowl the talk surrounding former New York Giants head coach Bill Parcells should have been his multiple championships, lengthy coaching tree and profound impact that helped him become a member of the Class of 2012 in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Instead, the talk will be about how in the world the former head coach of running back Curtis Martin, who was elected to the Hall of Fame, and the former boss of New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and Giants' headman Tom Coughlin didn't earn enough votes to make the cut and will have to wait another year to be enshrined.

More on Parcells not being elected into the Pro Football Hall Of Fame after the jump...

In a report filed by ESPN's Rich Cimini, the debate about Parcells lasted over an hour, however, it simply came down to a numbers game says SI.com's Jim Trotter.

"There are more deserving candidates than there are available spots, which max out at five a year for modern-era nominees."

Agree or disagree, this writer thinks that the voters made a mistake.
