Rick Nash remains a member of the Columbus Blue Jackets, now less than 48 hours from the NHL Trade Deadline of 3 p.m. ET on Monday. It appears that the Blue are not willing to lower their very high demands in a trade for Nash, and might be willing to wait until the offseason to make a deal.
Nash’s agent, Joe Resnick, would like a deal to be consummated by the Monday deadline.
"We’re hopeful a deal can get done prior to the trade deadline that is fair and equitable for the Blue Jackets,” said Resnick. "However, if a deal is not reached, then the list of acceptable teams will not change at a later date."
The New York Rangers are on the list of teams Nash would like to play for, and the Rangers have been considered the front-runners for Nash. The Rangers, however, have not been willing to meet Columbus’ asking price.
