After three days of orientation, medical exams, psychological testing and interviews, the 2012 NFL Combine will finally see workouts Saturday in Indianapolis as the offensive linemen, tight ends and special teamers will run drills on the Lucas Oil Stadium field.
It figures to be a big day for offensive line prospect Desmond Wynn (6-foot-5, 305 pounds) of the Rutgers Scarlet Knights who will be trying to improve his draft status. Wynn is currently projected as a fifth- or sixth-round selection by NFLDraftScout.com.
The day is just as important for tight end prospect Nick Provo of the Syracuse Orange football program. Provo (6-3, 249) is projected as a sixth- or seventh-rounder according to NFLDraftScout.com, while Provo's former teammate, offensive lineman Andrew Tiller (6-5, 334), will be trying to get on the radar of NFL front-office brass.
Meanwhile, Rutgers' wide receiver Mohamed Sanu, a possible first-round selection, will be going through NFLPA meetings, psychological testing and interviews. Sanu will begin drills/workouts on Sunday morning.
Syracuse defensive end Chandler Jones (6-5, 265), another possible first-round pick, arrived in Indy Friday and will be doing the same thing as Francis. Jones will be put through drills and workouts Monday.
Arriving in Indy Saturday will be Syracuse defensive back Phillip Thomas (5-11, 190).
