Super Bowl Odds And Predictions: Madden 2012 Predicts Push For Giants Vs. Patriots

The NFL video game, Madden 2012, has produced a simulation of Super Bowl 2012 between the New York Giants and New England Patriots and its posted on YouTube. And according to its predictions, the Patriots, who are currently 3-point favorites, and Giants are going to end the game with a final score of 27-24 and create a push for degenerate gamblers everywhere.

Madden NFL 12 - Super Bowl XLVI Sim - Patriots vs Giants (via EASPORTS)

To be honest, its just a bad luck that the Giants earn a 24-10 advantage heading in the third quarter, but can't hang on because Patriots' tight end Aaron Hernandez is really good and New York quarterback Eli Manning somehow throws a pick in the early stages of becoming immortal -- really Eli? There was nobody there!! How do you throw that pass?!?!!?

Luckily, if you're a Giants fan, who laid some big bucks down, you leave the Super Bowl with no positive-money margin but instead your fourth title and second big-game victory over New England.

However, if you're a Pats fan and laid down some dough, well, this is just not your day.

All-in-all, at the end of the day, when push comes to shove, when the fat lady sings, we've all learned a solid lesson here: A) don't rely on Madden simulations to wager large sums of money; and B) don't bet on something you have no control over!

Good luck to all the degenerate gamblers out there!

Super Bowl Odds: Giants Vs. Patriots Picks And Predictions

The New England Patriots enter Super Bowl 2012 as 3-point favorites over the New York Giants, according to the Super Bowl odds. The Patriots (13-3) will be looking to avenge a loss in the '08 Super Bowl, which featured the Giants (9-7) earning a 17-14 victory in Arizona, while New York is looking to do the improbable -- beat Tom Bradyand Bill Belichick for the second time in a HUGE game.

However, not only is the Vince Lombardi Trophy on the line Sunday (6:30 p.m. on NBC) but so is my credibility as SB Nation New York's pick'em guy who enters the biggest game of the year with an overall record of 42-40-2. Yes, I'll finish the year above .500 but I bet in imaginary increments of $1-million. So, if I get the Super Bowl right then I finish the year plus $3-million -- give or take. With that kind of cash, then maybe I can convice my wife to allow me to bet for real -- "But honey, I won $3-million last year!! How would $3-million in the bank sound this year?"

So, without further delay lets get to my overall picks and predictions for Super Bowl 46.

Patriots (13-3) vs. Giants (9-7) -- Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, IN

I see this game moving in either of two directions: First, New York continues to play like it has been on both sides of the ball -- Eli Manning manges the game well, makes a few big plays to Victor Cruz or Hakeem Nicks, while the defense rushes the passer to limit its opponents offense -- and the Giants cruise to a 7-point or more victory.

Or, the Patriots, led by Brady and Belichick, just get so pissed that everybody is mentioning the David Tyreecatch of '08, Brady's legacy if he loses another one Super Bowl and Belichick not winning big games since he got caught "cheating" a few years back. For New England, there's so much bulletin-board material its not even funny -- did I mention how Rob Gronkowski is going to want to prove ankle-doubters wrong, too?

However, for the second thing to happen we also have to figure in that a quarterback with the last name Manning will not enter the game prepared or focused -- not going to happen; and, Giants head coach Tom Coughlin will not make sure his players know what Brady and Belichick want to prove -- Coughlin is smarter than that.

So, with that logic I'm rolling with the Giants, who I picked to down the Falcons, Packers and 49ers, respectively. Enjoy G-Men fans as you get back, "back in the New York grooooooove!"

Prediction: Giants 20, Patriots 19.

Super Bowl Prop Bets: National Anthem Singer Kelly Clarkson, Madonna Halftime Show, Peyton Manning, Jim Irsay, Andrew Luck

As you've probably seen, SB Nation New York is covering every angle of the 2012 Super Bowl. And with just a few days before the big game, we've decided to reach out to those degenerate gamblers that love to bet on every aspect of the Super Bowl, the biggest sports betting event of the year.

Below is a list of prop bets, provided by Bovada, for national anthem, which will be sang by Kelly Clarkson, the halftime show, which will be performed by Madonna, and the television broadcast (6:30 p.m. on NBC).

New York Giants Prop Bets --- New England Patriots Prop Bets

Jim Irsay, Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck Prop Bets

Prop bet No. 1: How many times will Peyton Manning (Colts quarterback) be mentioned on TV?

Over 3-1/2 (-130)
Under 3-1/2 (-110)

Jared's pick: Considering he's surrounded all the talk this week -- besides Rob Gronowski's ankle -- and his littler brother, Eli Manning, is playing in it. I'd take the over and by a lot.

Prop bet No. 2: How many times will Jim Irsay (Colts owner) be mentioned on TV?

Over 1 (Even)
Under 1 (-140)

Jared's pick: Again, Peyton Manning shot deserves a Jim Irsay shot, so that's one right there. Once they talk about the new stadium, which he helped build then there's No. 2. I'd take the over.

Prop bet No. 3: How many times will Andrew Luck be mentioned on TV?

Over 1 (-110)
Under 1 (-130)

Jared's pick: This is going to be a push, as there's going to be so many other things to talk about during the Super Bowl. I'd stay away from this, but its coming up at least once, so if you're going to bet go with the over.

For the next set of prop bets I brought in an expert -- my wife. She knows a lot more about these types of things than I do, but she hates gambling so take that for what its worth.

National Anthem Super Bowl 2012

Prop bet No. 1: Length of Kelly Clarkson's National Anthem.

Over 1 minutes 34 seconds (-120)
Under 1 minute 34 seconds (-120)

Wife's pick: The National Anthem is a 90-second song that always seem to go longer than that during big events like this. Clarkson is a classy woman, but she will go over.

Prop bet No. 2: Kelly Clarkson's wardrobe.

Super Bowl 46 or official NFL shirt (+225)
Colts Jersey or shirt (+700)
Giants Jersey or shirt (+1500)
Patriots Jersey or shirt (+1500)
Anything else (-300)

Wife's pick: Mrs. Clarkson is from Texas, and she's really Texas, so I don't see her wearing any of those teams. I am going with anything else, as she'll probably wear a Cowboys or Texans jersey.

Prop bet No. 3: Will Kelly Clarkson forget or omit at least one word?

Yes (+250)

Wife's pick: Consider that most of the national anthems nowadays or prerecorded as the singer just mouths the words she won't miss a single one. Don't bet, yes.

Prop bet No. 4: Will Kelly Clarkson's bare belly be showing when she sings?

Yes (+300)

Wife's pick: Again, she's Texas and a classy woman. Plus, she's past her bare-belly days -- that's no a slam on her amazing good looks!! I wouldn't bet yes.

Super Bowl Halftime Show 2012

Prop bet No. 1: Will Madonna wear fishnet stockings at any point during Super Bowl 2012 halftime show?

Yes (-120)
No (-120)

Wife's pick: Madonna always wears fishnet stocks, so I'd go with Yes.

Prop bet No. 2: Will Madonna wear an NFL Jersey or shirt at any point during Super Bowl 2012 halftime show?

Yes (+250)
No (-400)

Wife's pick: At some point, Madonna is going to pay tribute to the NFL so I'd go with Yes, again.

Prop bet No. 3: Will Madonna wear a hat at any point during the Super Bowl 2012 halftime show?

Yes (-120)
No (-120)

Wife's pick: Madonna will be inside, so why would she need a hat? I'd say no.

Super Bowl Prop Bets: New England Patriots Odds 2012

As you've probably seen, SB Nation New York is covering every angle of the Super Bowl 2012. And with just a few days before the big game, we've decided to reach out to those degenerate gamblers that love to bet on every aspect of the Super Bowl, the biggest sports betting event of the year.

Below is a list of prop bets, provided by Bovada, for the New England Patriots, who play the New York Giants in Sunday's Super Bowl (6:30 p.m. on NBC).

New York Giants Prop Bets --- Coin Toss, National Anthem, Halftime Show, TV Pro Bets

Patriots' Super Bowl 2012 MVP award winner.

Tom Brady (7-5)
Rob Gronkowski (12-1)
Wes Welker (12-1)
Aaron Hernandez (16-1)
BenJarvus Green-Ellis (25-1)
Deion Branch (40-1)
Chad Ochocinco (50-1).

Jared's pick: Unless, Wes Welker scores two touchdowns then he's not a good bet to earn MVP honors. That makes it a coin flip between Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski, who if he has even somewhat of a productive game with a bum ankle will win the award in a Patriots win. But, with that said, Gronk needs Brady to throw the ball to him, so I'd go with No. 12.

How many passing yards will Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady throw for?

Over 320-1/2 (-125)
Under 320-1/2 (-105)

Jared's pick: Brady has surpassed that number in 11 of the Patriots 18 games this season. In the AFC Championship game, however, Brady finished with just 239 yards against a solid Baltimore Ravens defense. The Giants defense Sunday is just as good, so I am going with the under.

Exact number of Brady touchdown passes?

None (+700)
1 (+400)
2 (+250)
3 (+300)
4 or more (+200)

Jared's pick: Brady has thrown for three or more touchdowns in eight of the Patriots 18 games, so the odds don't favor him going higher than that against the Giants defense. I would bet that the only way the Pats get into the end zone is through the air making two touchdowns a good bet, as Brady has tallied two touchdown passes in seven games this year. Brady's only game this season that involved no touchdown passes was last week.

Brady rushing attempts?

Over 3 (-115)
Under 3 (-115)

Jared's pick: This season, Brady has averaged 2.5 rush attempts per game, and facing a Giants defense that rushes the passer well, you'd think that No. 12 might be rushing out of the pocket more than 2 1/2 times. I'd take the over.

How many rushing yards will BenJarvus Green-Ellis have?

Over 47-1/2 (-125)
Under 47-1/2 (-105)

Jared's pick: Only six times in 18 Patriot games has Green-Ellis rushed for 48 yards or more. Thinking that New England will rely heavily on their pass-happy offense, I'd go for the under.

How many receptions will wide receiver Wes Welker have?

Over 8-1/2 (-115)
Under 8-1/2 (-115)

Jared's pick: If you first look at this bet without stats you'd probably figure that Welker is a solid bet for double-digit catch game, especially with Rob Gronkowski hobbling around. Well, Welker isn't as he's compiled just four games this season with nine or more catches. I'd bet with the under, especially with the money line being the same.

How many receptions will wide receiver Chad Ochocinco have?

Over 1/2 (-125)
Under 1/2 (+110)

Jared's pick: In the five games that Ochocinco has payed in this season, he has caught at least one pass, however, he hasn't played since Dec. 4. I'd take the chance that he doesn't see one ball come his way, as I am taking the under.

Will Patriots' head coach Bill Belichick retire if his team wins Super Bowl 2012?

Yes (+900)

Jared's pick: I just can't see The Hoodie doing anything else but coaching. Plus, he still has Tom Brady as his quarterback. I think until No. 12 is still tossing the pigskin around, I'd stay away from this bet.

How many times will Robert Kraft be shown on TV during the game?

Over 3 1/2 (-140)
Under 3/12 (Even)

Jared's pick: There will be at least one shot of Kraft during the game, and unless the Patriots are about to win it and Tom Brady is in victory formation, then I think 3 1/2 is too much. Take the under.

How many times Giselle Bundchen (Tom Brady's wife) be shown on TV?

Over 1/2 (-200)
Under 1/2 (+150)

Jared's pick: There's got to be at least one perverted Producer at NBC that would like to see her, so I am saying over is a solid bet.

Super Bowl Prop Bets: New York Giants Odds 2012

As you've probably seen, SB Nation New York is covering every angle of the Super Bowl 2012. And with just a few days before the big game, we've decided to reach out to those degenerate gamblers that love to bet on every aspect of the Super Bowl, the biggest sports betting event of the year.

Below is a list of Super Bowl prop bets, provided by Bovada, for the New York Giants, who will be playing the New England Patriots in Sunday's Super Bowl (6:30 p.m. on NBC).

All Your Super Bowl 2012 Betting Needs In One Place

Giants' Super Bowl 2012 MVP award winner?

Eli Manning (7-5)
Victor Cruz (8-1)
Hakeem Nicks (12-1)
Ahmad Bradshaw (20-1)
Jason Pierre-Paul (25-1)
Mario Manningham (35-1)
Brandon Jacobs (40-1)

Jared's pick: I really believe that Eli Manning is the easy bet here. If the Giants win the Super Bowl its going to be because Manning has a solid performance and not because somebody else stole the show. However, I'd like to think that voters would also like to give Eli a boost over Peyton just so they can talk able who's better the next decade.

How many passing yards will Giants' quarterback Eli Manning throw for?

Over 315-1/2 (-135)
Under 315-1/2 (+105)

Jared's pick: Great number for this one, as in the past five games Manning has gone over that number three times and under it twice. I am guessing, that if the Giants are successful they're mixing the run and pass well and if they lose Manning his passing numbers will not be that great. So, I'd go with the under.

Total rushing yards for Eli Manning?

Over 3-1/2 (-130)
Under 3-1/2 (Even)

Jared's pick: I am taking the under for two reasons: 1) over the course of this season Manning is averaging just 0.5-rushing yards per game; and 2) he's not that fast, so if he's running away from pressure he's not getting very far.

Exact number of Eli Manning passing touchdowns?

None (+550)
1 (+250)
2 (+250)
3 (+275)
4 or more (+400)

Jared's pick: I like to think if the Giants are going to score at least three touchdowns, and two of them are coming through the air. But, since the money-line is better with three scores, then I am going with three.

How many rushing yards will Giants' running back Ahmad Bradshaw get?

Over 62-1/2 (-115)
Under 62-1/2 (-115)

Jared's pick: Again, if the Giants are going to win, then they've established a balanced attack that features Bradshaw, however, I think Brandon Jacobs will steal some of the carries too. So, unless Bradshaw, who hasn't surpassed 63 yards all season, busts a big one you should thinking taking the under is a smart bet.

Will Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks catch a touchdown?

Yes (-115)
No (-115)

Jared's pick: Nick has scored a touchdown in less than half of all the Giants' games this season, so the odds are less than 50/50 he will do it in the Super Bowl. However, Nicks did catch two touchdowns in two of New York's three postseason games, meaning I am saying, yes!.

How many receiving yard will Giants' wide receiver Victor Cruz have?

Over 89-1/2 (-130)
Under 89-1/2 (Even)

Jared's pick: In 12 of the Giants' 19 games this season, Cruz has surpassed that mark. In the postseason, however, Cruz has surpassed that mark just once. What does that tell me? He's due! Take the over.

Total catches for Victor Cruz?

Over 6 (-125)
Under 6 (-105)

Jared's pick: In five of the Giants' 19 games this year, Cruz has caught more than six balls. Cruz has totaled six catches six times, so with those numbers along with a push allowing you to get your money back, I'd take the over.

Total sacks for Giants' defense end Osi Umenyiora.

Over 1/2
Under 1/2

Jared's pick: In 12 games that Umenyiora has played this season, he has collected at least one sack. I know that Tom Brady can get rid of the ball quick, but one has to think Osi is getting to Mr. Brady once.

Will Giants' head coach Tom Coughlin retire if his team wins Super Bowl 2012?

Yes (+900)

Jared's pick: Unless, Coughlin is taken out by a out-of-bounds tackle and hospitalized -- oh, that's a terrible thought -- then there's no way he's retiring. The guy loves his job too much.

How many times will David Tyree's 2008 Super Bowl catch be shown during Super Bowl 2012?

Over 1 1/2 (Even)
Under 1 1/2 (-140)

Jared's pick: It's happening at least once, so you need to ask yourself: "If the game is even somewhat close in the fourth quarter will NBC Producer show the clip again?" Of course. Take the over!
