The Knicks try to avoid only their second two-game losing streak of the season at the Suns.
The New York Knicks have lost three of their last five games and will try to avoid losing consecutive games for just the second time this season when they travel to Phoenix to take on the Suns at 9 p.m. ET.
The Knicks are coming off a tough loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas Day, a game in which they had a chance to knock off the suddenly surging Lakers but could not hold onto a nine-point third-quarter lead. The recent up-and-down play can be attributed partially to their three-point shooting numbers coming down from the insane clip seen earlier in the season. The Knicks are shooting 39.5 percent from three but just 31.2 percent over the last five games.
In the Suns, the Knicks will face a team that won four straight before dropping their last two games. The Suns are without the luxury of a bonafide star like Carmelo Anthony or anyone as explosive as J.R. Smith, but they come to play each night and make up for their talent disparity with hard work. Goran Dragic leads the Suns with 14.5 points, 6.3 assists and 1.7 steals, while Marcin Gortat anchors the front line with 11.2 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game.
The Knicks enter the game at 20-8, while the Suns are 11-17.
