As the non-conference schedule winds down, the Orange are near the top of the national polls.

Few teams have impressed more than the Syracuse Orange this season. They feature a perfect 9-0 record, and coach Jim Boeheim's team is loaded with talent and size. The only knock against Syracuse is their weak strength of schedule, although that will change drastically once Big East play begins.

As the Coaches Poll and AP Poll were released on Monday, Dec. 17, the Orange were ranked No. 3 overall in both. The Duke Blue Devils are now the nation's top team following Indiana's loss to Butler over the weekend. The Michigan Wolverines, who feature a nice mix of veteran leaders and talented underclassmen, are now second.

Arizona is fourth in the AP Poll, while Louisville rounds out the top five. Those two programs are swapped in the Coaches Poll. The Wildcats knocked off then No. 5 Florida over the weekend, while the Cardinals rallied in the second half to knock off Memphis on the road.
