David Wilson nominated for NFL Rookie of the Week

David Wilson has been nominated for the NFL Rookie of the Week for his standout performance against the New Orleans Saints.

New York Giants running back David Wilson has been nominated for the Pepsi Max NFL Rookie of the Week, according to an official press release from the NFL.

Nominations were based upon performances in Week 14, and a fan vote that opened on Tuesday morning will determine the winner. Voting will close on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m., ET.

The winner will officially be announced on the NFL Network's NFL Total Access, as well as on NFL.com on Friday.

Wilson is being recognized for his impressive performance in the Giants' victory over the New Orleans Saints. The rookie running back recorded 100 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries in New York's 52-27 victory. In addition, he registered 227 kick-return yards and a 97-yard touchdown return.

Other individuals nominated for the weekly honor are Travis Benjamin of the Cleveland Browns, Nick Foles of the Philadelphia Eagles, Alfred Morris of the Washington Redskins and Harrison Smith of the Minnesota Vikings.
