The New York Red Bulls will play a snow-delayed win-or-go-home playoff game against D.C. United on a Thursday night that also holds two NBA games, an NFL game, and some college football.
The New York Red Bulls' Wednesday night MLS Cup playoff match against D.C. United was snowed ou, by the Nor'easter that dropped snow across the New York area but they'll try again - with better weather conditions - Thursday night. All times are Eastern.
MLS: D.C. United vs. New York Red Bulls, 7:30 p.m., NBC Sports Network The weather gods have had it out for the Red Bulls: first their original Saturday home matchup was moved to Washington due to the after-effects of Hurricane Sandy, then their second attempt at playing the home leg of the two-game series was delayed when the field at Red Bull Park couldn't handle a snowstorm Wednesday night. They'll try to actually play on Thursday, with the winner advancing to the Eastern Conference Championship. The teams are tied 1-1 after a wild first leg which featured a pair of own goals, a missed penalty kick, and a player ejected for throwing a ball at a referee. If the teams are tied after 90 minutes, they will play an additional 30 before resorting to penalty kicks.
