Mark Konezny-US PRESSWIRE

Stony Brook advanced over the weekend with a victory against Villanova.

The Stony Brook Seawolves beat the Villanova Wildcats, 20-10, on Saturday afternoon in the first round of the FCS playoffs.

The Seawolves will now take on the No. 3 Montana State Bobcats in the second round on Dec. 1, with a trip to the semifinals on the line. If Stony Brook can continue its run and make it all the way to the National Championship, they'll play on Jan. 5 in Frisco, Texas.

Running back Miguel Maysonet led the way to a hard-earned victory for Stony Brook, rushing for 160 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

South Dakota State also advanced into the second round with a win on Saturday, beating Eastern Illinois in a laugher, 58-10. Zach Zenner was the star of the show with a trio of touchdown runs and 295 yards on the ground.
