Deron Williams and the Nets welcome the Blazers on Sunday.

The Brooklyn Nets are off to a tremendous start and are hoping to continue that on Sunday against the Portland Trailblazers at the Barclays Center.

Brooklyn is 7-4, only one game behind its crosstown rival, the New York Knicks, in the Atlantic Division. The Nets were expected by many to be a poor defensive team, but so far that hasn't been the case. Avery Johnson's squad ranks second in points allowed per game with just 92.1.

The Nets had struggled a bit on their three-game West Coast trip, dropping games to the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors. However, they righted the ship with a home win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday.

Portland comes in with a 6-6 mark, riding high after beating the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday. Rookie Damian Lillard has been a massive and welcome surprise, leading the team by averaging just over 20 points and six assists per game.

The Blazers are also the opposite of the Nets on the defensive end, ranking 29th in the league.
