Nets vs. Kings final score: Blatche's 22 leads Brooklyn to fifth straight win

The Brooklyn Nets won their fifth straight game, beating the Sacramento Kings behind an 11-for-12 shooting performance by Andray Blatche and a double-double from Deron Williams.

Andray Blatche proved he can still contribute in the NBA by coming off the bench to record a team-high 22 points in the Brooklyn Nets' 99-90 win over the Sacramento Kings, the team's fifth straight.

Brooklyn surged in the second quarter, outscoring Sacramento 33-22, and although the Kings eventually cut the lead to three late behind 29 points from DeMarcus Cousins - 23 in the second half - the Nets maintained their lead the whole way and got the win.

The Nets played only their second game of the season with their starting five, as Gerald Wallace returned from a sprained ankle. But the team's stacked starting five wasn't on top of its game: Joe Johnson missed nine of his ten attempts, and although Deron Williams registered a double-double with 14 points and 10 assists, the Nets' bench led the way to the win: Blatche hit 11 of his 12 shots, while MarShon Brooks added 14 on only six shots and C.J. Watson hit three of four attempts from downtown. It was Blatche's third double-digit performance off the bench for Brooklyn after being the talented, but troubled big man was amnestied by the Washington Wizards in the offseason.

The Nets have now won five in a row, while the Kings dropped their fifth straight. Brooklyn is off Monday before finishing their West Coast trip with a back-to-back against the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors.
