A 75-yard touchdown scored on a return from a blocked field goal has helped the No. 20-ranked Rutgers Scarlet Knights earn a 17-7 lead over the Syracuse Orange. The Big East Conference football game has reached the conclusion of the third quarter.
Duron Harmon scored Rutgers' touchdown after he scooped up a blocked 32-yard field goal by Syracuse kicker Ross Krautman. Harmon, who blocked two field goals against SU last season, rumbled 3/4 of the field into the end zone.
A 25-yard field goal by Scarlet Knights' kicker Nick Borgese pushed the lead to 10 points with about four minute to play in the third quarter. That score was setup by a fumble by SU quarterback Ryan Nassib near midfield that was recovered by Rutgers. 11 plays later, Borgese split the uprights.
Rutgers will start the fourth quarter facing a 4th-and-6 from its own territory. It will punt the ball away to SU.

A one-yard touchdown run by running back Adonis Ameen-Moore has helped the Syracuse Orange tie the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, 7-7, in a Big East Conference football game at High Point Solutions Stadium. The contest is at halftime.
Ameen-Moore's second touchdown of the season capped off a 12-play, 80-yard drive that ended with 1:32 to go in the second quarter. The march was highlighted by a 16-yard rush by running back Jerome Smith, who carried the ball four times for 27 yard on the drive. Senior quarterback Ryan Nassib also tossed a 13-yard pass to senior wide receiver Alec Lemon to convert a 3rd-and-4 situation at the Scarlet Knight 37-yard line.
Rutgers scored the game's first touchdown of the game in the first quarter. Senior running back Jawan Jamison punched the ball into the end zone to cap an impressive 10-play, 93-yard drive that ended with 4:52 to play in the quarter. The march was highlighted by a 43-yard catch-and-run by junior wide receiver Brandon Coleman, who was tackled as the SU one-yard line. Two plays later, Jamison scored on a halfback dive.
Overall, the Scarlet Knight have outgained the Orange in total yards, 133-123. Neither team has a turnover in the game. The Orange did miss a 50-yard field goal attempt early in the second quarter.

A one-yard touchdown run by senior tailback Jawan Jamison has helped the No. 20-ranked Rutgers Scarlet Knights take a 7-0 lead on the Syracuse Orange. The Big East Conference football game has reached the conclusion of the first quarter.
Jamison's third touchdown of the season capped an impressive 10-play, 93-yard drive that ended with 4:52 to play in the quarter. The march was highlighted by a 43-yard catch-and-run by junior wide receiver Brandon Coleman, who was tackled at the SU one-yard line. Two plays later, Jamison scored on a halfback dive.
Rutgers sophomore quarterback Gary Nova has completed five of his seven passes for 83 yards. Jamison has rushed for nine yards on eight carries.
The Orange's first drive of the game marched all the way down to the Scarlet Knight 25-yard line, however, it stalled when SU was called for a holding penalty and then senior quarterback Ryan Nassib was sacked for a 11-yard loss on second down. The Orange failed to convert a 3rd-and-26 and was forced to punt.
Syracuse will begin the second quarter with the ball a Rutgers' 17-yard line facing a 2nd-and-7 situation.

Kyle Federico still isn't quite sure what he'll be doing this afternoon.
Whether or not he'll be kicking for the 19/20 Rutgers football team as they line up against Big East rival Syracuse is still up in the air, and will most likely be a game-time decision for head coach Kyle Flood who, as of this writing, was unsure whether the true freshman would be truly effective on the field.
With the past two meetings between Syracuse and Rutgers decided by a three-point differential, including a double overtime victory for the Scarlet Knights last season, Federico's position and the field and his ability to kick could be more crucial than ever.
"It happened on one of the kickoffs after the last field goal he attempted," Flood said earlier this week of his kicker's apparent hip injury. "I really can't tell you anything about it."
Over the course of Rutgers' first five games of the season, Federico has been, for the most part, successful, connecting on six-of-eleven field goal attempts and averaging just over 60 yards per kickoff.
As the Scarlet Knights prepped for this afternoon's matchup with the Orange, Flood did look at several other options, should Federico be unavailable by noon.
Redshirt freshman Nick Borgese and sophomore Nick DeLouisia have both run through practice as kicker this past week. Should Federico be ruled out at game-time, Delousia is the more likely choice; he stepped in after Federico left last week's game against Connecticut.
On the Orange end of the spectrum, the biggest major injury going into the Rutgers matchup is sophomore wide receiver Jeremiah Kobena, who is also Syracuse's primary kick returner.
Kobena, who has caught five passes, two for touchdowns, this season, is currently listed as day by day after sustaining a hand injury in Syracuse's September 8 loss to USC. He will most likely be a game-time decision as well.
Today's Big East matchup will be nationally broadcast on the Big East Network, with kickoff scheduled for noon at High Point Solutions Stadium in Piscataway New Jersey.
The game will also be streamed on ESPN3 and WatchESPN.com. If you happen to miss all of that, the game will also be replayed, in its entirety, on SNY on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.
As of this morning, Rutgers was a seven-point favorite in the spread.

The No. 20 Rutgers Scarlet Knights, still undefeated to this point in the season, host the Syracuse Orange in a Big East battle that oddsmakers see the home team winning by more than a touchdown.
According to OddsShark, Rutgers opened the week as 7½-point favorites and currently the spread remains in the same spot. However, the over/under point total for the contest, which opened at 43, has been bumped a bit as it now sits at 45½ points.
The uptick in total points expected is interesting due to the uncertain status of Scarlet Knights freshman kicker Kyle Federico, who injured his hip in the second half of the team's 19-3 win over Connecticut last Saturday.
The Orange (2-3, 1-0 in the Big East), are coming off of a tight conference win over the Pittsburgh Panthers on Oct. 5, 14-13. Rutgers, on the other hand, preceded Saturday's victory over the Huskies with a road win against the Arkansas Razorbacks, 35-26.
