The New York Red Bulls begin the 2012 MLS Cup Playoffs Saturday against DC United.

The New York Red Bulls will open the 2012 MLS Cup Playoffs on Saturday (8 p.m. ET/NBC Sports Network) against DC United. The Red Bulls are the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference, while United is the No. 2 seed.

The two-game series, which will be determined by an aggregate score, will conclude Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 8 p.m. ET in DC.

The two teams played three times during the MLS regular season. DC United routed the Red Bulls, 4-1, at RFK Stadium in April. In June, the Red Bulls earned a 3-2 victory at Red Bull Arena. In August, the teams played to a 2-2 draw at RFK.

SB Nation New York will have previews throughout the week, so be sure to check back here frequently. You can find complete MLS playoff coverage in the SB Nation MLS Playoffs StoryStream. SB Nation's Once A Metro will be your home for all things Red Bulls.
