New York Knicks general manager Glen Grunwald said Monday at the team's media day that they believe Raymond Felton is a better value than Jeremy Lin.

The New York Knicks believe Raymond Felton is a better value than Jeremy Lin, and that's why the organization decided to give Felton a second shot and let last year's season-savior sign with the Houston Rockets, general manager Glen Grunwald admitted Monday at the franchise's media day.

"It comes down to Houston made a commitment to him we weren’t prepared to make,’’ Grunwald told the New York Post. "I’m very happy for Jeremy that things worked out for him personally and his family and wish him the best. But I’m more excited about our team right now.

"We felt Raymond Felton was the best option at the end of the day. We were excited to get Raymond back. We weren’t disappointed at all [Houston changed the offer].’’

Over the offseason, Lin inked a three-year, $25.1 million contract with the Rockets, an offer the Knicks could've matched but didn't. Instead, New York decided to sign Felton to a three-year, $10 million deal.

Statically, Lin averaged 14.6 points and 6.1 assists per game for the Knicks, while Felton allied 11.4 ppg and 6.5 apg for the the Portland Trailblazers.
