Tyson Chandler day-to-day with bone bruise

New York Knicks center Tyson Chandler is listed as day-to-day following an MRI on Thursday that revealed a bone bruise in his left knee, according to Ian Begley of ESPN New York. As of this time, it's unclear as to whether he will be available for opening night against the Brooklyn Nets next Thursday.

Chandler sustained the injury on Wednesday night during the Knicks' final preseason game after he collided with Gerald Wallace of the Nets. While he was able to walk off the court under his own power, he did leave the arena with the assistance of crutches.

During his media availability after the game, Chandler expressed confidence that the injury was nothing to be concerned about and predicted that he would only have to take a few days off before returning to practice. He stated that he believed he would be able to play in the season opener.

The Knicks will open the season on Nov. 1 in the first regular season game at the newly constructed Barclay's Center in Brooklyn.
