Greene, Jets Run All Over Colts 35-9

The non-existent Jets running game returns in a big way, helping Gang Green end their two-game losing streak.

Shonn Greene revitalized the New York Jets running game, scoring three times and rushing for 161 yards in a 35-9 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

Greene carried 32 times and averaged just over five yards per rush, and rookie receiver Stephen Hill scored twice in his first game back after missing the previous two with a hamstring injury.

The Jets (3-3) held Indianapolis (2-4) to just 41 yards on the ground and 298 total yards — New York had 252 rushing yards. Gang Green intercepted Andrew Luck once, though Antonio Cromartie had two picks that he returned for touchdowns called back because of penalties, had four sacks and two fumble recoveries.

About the only thing that was not working for the Jets was the passing game and that would just be nitpicking.

Mark Sanchez completed over 50 percent of his passes (11-for-18) for 82 yards and two scores. Tim Tebow completed a 23-yard pass on a fake punt that kept a touchdown drive alive during a 21-point second quarter that put the Jets in control of the game, control they would never relinquish.

The Jets head to Foxboro next Sunday for a battle with Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.
