The Syracuse Orange men's basketball season official begins Friday with Midnight Madness at the Carrier Dome (8 p.m.).

The Syracuse Orange men's basketball season can official begin Friday when the program hosts Midnight Madness at the Carrier Dome (8 p.m. ET). The event, which serves as a preseason pep rally for fans and is used as a recruiting tool, will be hosted by former SU point guard Scoop Jardine and Jasmine Jordan, current SU student and daughter of NBA legend Michael Jordan. ESPNU and ESPN3.com will televise the event.

Orange Madness will feature both the men's and women's basketball teams conducting scrimmages, dunk and 3-point shooting contests and other activities. However, the most important aspect of the night is impressing future recruits that will be in attendance.
