Debby Wong-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire
The New York Yankees have a chance to close out the Baltimore Orioles in Game 4 of the ALDS, while the New York Knicks have their first preseason game.
The the New York Yankees can advance to the ALCS with a win and the New York Knicks tip off their season - well, preseason - on Thursday night.
MLB: Baltimore Orioles vs. New York Yankees, 7:37 p.m., TBS: New York is still trying to soak in the ridiculous nature of Raul Ibanez' two-homer pinch-hit performance that saved the Yanks in the ninth inning, then won them the game in the 12th inning, but there's more baseball to be played. New York has two chances to close out Baltimore, beginning tonight with Game 4. Phil Hughes takes the mound for New York despite a shaky close to the finish, squaring off against Joe Saunders, who won for the O's in their Wild Card matchup against the Texas Rangers.
NBA: New York Knicks vs. Washington Wizards, 7:00 p.m., MSG: In a significantly less important game, the Knicks play their first preseason matchup on the road in Washington. Its the first opportunity for New York fans to see how a new cast of veterans has meshed, whether newcomers Jason Kidd and Raymond Felton can keep Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire happy, and who has the best shot at taking the Knicks' two remaining roster spots.
