Rutgers-WVU Final Score: Scarlet Knights Fall 83-64 To The Mountaineers

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights were looking for their first win in Big East play on Wednesday night at home against the West Virginia Mountaineers. They'll have to try again on Saturday for that win after losing 83-64 to the West Virginia Mountaineers.

The Knights did manage to hold Kevin Jones, the leading scorer in the Big East, to just 14 points. Jones did have 14 rebounds for the night. Mountaineers senior guard Darryl Bryant continued his torrid streak, leading West Virginia with 29 points, sinking four of five three-point attempts along the way. He Bryant also had three rebounds, two assists and three steals.

Eli Carter led the Knights with 19 points, four assists, four rebounds and a steal. Carter tried seven three-point shots, but made just two of them. The entire team hit just 25 percent of their three-pointers.

Rutgers lost to South Florida last week, their Big East opener, and they've now lost two in a row after upsetting tenth ranked Florida on Dec. 29. They host UConn on Saturday.
