If there's any way to get back on track it's beating a franchise that has had your number in 22 of their last 23 tries, and that's just what the New York Islanders could do against the Philadelphia Flyers, who visit the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum (7 p.m. on MSG+). The last-place Islanders (15-19-6, 36 points) have lost seven straight against the Flyers (25-12-4, 54 points) and are 1-17-5 in the past 23 meetings.
On Tuesday, the Islanders kept their surprising domination over the Detroit Red Wings earning a 5-1 victory. Over the last six meetings over the Redwings, New York is 5-0-1.
The big storyline for New York will be goaltender Evgeni Nabokov going for his 300th career victory after making 23 saves Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Flyers are trying to keep pace in the Atlantic Division standings, which features the New York Rangers four points head of second-place Philadelphia.
