The No. 24 Seton Hall Pirates had no trouble dispatching the DePaul Blue Demons in Big East play on Tuesday night, leading wire-to-wire for the 94-73 victory. The Pirates improved to 16-2 overall and 5-1 in Big East play.
The Pirates kept the scoring at a consistent clip throughout the game, except for a stretch lasting 7:38 stretch during the second half in which they were outscored 17-2 by the Blue Demons. DePaul was still down 10 after the stretch, however, and Seton Hall would only pull away from then on.
The Pirates shot nearly 59 percent from the field, making up for their 11-for-21 performance from the free throw line. That still remains one of the biggest areas of concern for Seton Hall, who are making just 65 percent of their attempts from the charity stripe on the season.
Fuquan Edwin was outstanding on Tuesday, racking up 28 points to lead all scorers, on top of nine rebounds. Not to be outdone, Jordan Theodore registered 26 points on 10-for-16 shooting as well as 11 assists, with both totals matching season highs.
