ESPN today released its 2011 NFL Preseason Power Rankings, and it is pretty hard to argue with the placement of both the New York Jets and New York Giants.
The Jets, coming off consecutive AFC Championship Game defeats, are No. 7 in ESPN's rankings. he top six teams, in order are:
- Green Bay
- New England
- Philadelphia
- New Orleans
- Pittsburgh
- Atlanta
You can quibble that maybe Rex Ryan's team could have moved up a spot or two, but No. 7 is pretty fair to the Jets.So is No. 11 for the Giants, really.
After a 10-6 season that saw them miss the playoffs for the second straight year, Tom Coughlin's team is ranked just behind San Diego and just in front of Tampa Bay -- which means that is just about right. The NFC East rival Dallas Cowboys are No. 16, if you are interested.
