NFL Lockout 2011: Giants, Jets Holding Their Own Group Workouts

The NFL Lockout is still in place. Players can't use team facilities, coaches and players can't have contact, no "official" organized team activities can take place. Players from teams around the league have begun organizing their own group workouts, however, and the New York Giants and New York Jets have both joined those ranks.

Quarterback Eli Manning reportedly has Giants' receivers and running backs working out in a passing camp at Hoboken (N.J.) High School. That camp is expected to last about two weeks.

Jets' quarterback Mark Sanchez is hosting skill position teammates this week for what is being called 'Jets West' at Mission Viejo (Calif.) High School.

Really, this is about all teams can do at this point in terms of getting in any type of organized work. No coaches, no playbooks, just players getting together and working out in groups on their own. At least it's something, but it certainly is not ideal.
