New York Giants' Draft Picks: Prince Amukamara Selected At No. 19

Stay connected for news and updates

The New York Giants selected Prince Amukamara, CB, Nebraska, with their first-round selection in the 2011 NFL Draft, 19th overall.

Draft Countdown's Scott Wright calls Amukamara "A well-rounded player with the physical tools and intangibles  to  be a legitimate No. 1 corner in the NFL."

Amukamara was not expected to be on the board when the Giants selected at 19. Four quarterbacks were taken in the first 15 picks, however. New England also used its pick at No. 17 to surprisingly select Colorado offensive tackle Nate Solder, a player the Giants were thought to be targeting. The other player thought to be on the Giants' radar was Florida guard/center Mike Pouncey. He was taken by the Miami Dolphins with the 15th overall selection.
