Good morning, New York-area sports fans! Let's gets started on our first look around the regional sports scene for this Wednesday morning.↵
NHL: The playoff dream appears to be dead for the New Jersey Devils. Having had the worst record in the league at one point this season the Devils made a terrific run at the playoffs, but a 4-1 loss to Boston Tuesday leaves them nine points out of the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference with nine games to play.
The New York Rangers, on the other hand, are heating up as the season winds down. New York defeated Pittsburgh Tuesday for its fifth straight victory.↵
NFL: Players from Syracuse University with NFL aspirations will aim to impress NFL scouts, coaches and general managers today at the school's Pro Day. Delone Carter, Doug Hogue and Ryan Bartholomew are the Orange players most likely to be drafted this April. The NFL has decided to move kickoffs from the 30 to the 35-yard line, and that could have entirely different impacts on the New York Jets and New York Giants.↵
BASEBALL: Maybe this should be titled 'fashion' instead of 'baseball.' ESPN The Magazine apparently thought it would be a good idea to have fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger make some theoretical changes to uniforms of many of sport's most historic franchises, including the New York Yankees. The results? Ridiculous! Let's hope changes like these never happen.↵
