Syracuse University boasts four of the Big East Conference's 25 NFL hopefuls who have been invited to the annual NFL Scouting Combine. The Combine will be held Feb. 23-March 1 in Indianapolis.
Center Ryan Bartholomew, running back DeLone Carter, outside linebacker Doug Hogue and inside linebacker Derrell Smith have been invited to the Combine from Syracuse. Carter has seen his draft stock rise after impressive performances in Syracuse's Pinstripe Bowl victory over Kansas State and in the East-West Shrine Game, a showcase for NFL hopefuls where Carter won offensive MVP honors.
One Rutgers player, strong safety Joe Lefeged, has been invited to the Combine.
Pittsburgh had the most players invited to the Combine from the Big East -- six. Five players from West Virginia and Connecticut have been invited.
