Linebacker Khaseem Greene, who was named the conference's co-defensive player of the year, led four Scarlet Knights selected to the conference's first team. Green paced the Big East with 127 regular season tackles, averaging 10.6 per game, and led Rutgers to the conference's best scoring defense (18.8 points per game) and yardage defense (311.5 yards per game). He became the first Rutgers player to be chosen Big East defensive player of the year.
