St. John's-Detroit Final Score: Red Storm Fall To Titans, 69-63, During 'Dick Vitale Night'

The St. John's Red Storm men's basketball team was on the road Monday evening taking on the Detroit Titans in a non-conference game at Calihan Hall. On a night that celebrated Detroit's former head coach and "Motor City" icon, Dick Vitale, the Red Storm failed in their bid to play spoiler, coming up short by a final score of 69-63.

Sophomore point guard Ray McCallum was the top scorer of the night, bucketing 21 points with one rebound, four assists and one steal. The Red Storm had freshman forward Moe Harkless lead the team in a losing effort with 19 points, 11 rebounds and one assist.

St. John's, which drops to 4-5 with the loss, next plays the Fordham Rams on Saturday at Madison Square Garden. Detroit, which improves to 4-6 with the win, will take the courts again this Thursday against the Western Michigan Broncos.
