Fresh off an exhilarating 24-20 victory over the New England Patriots the New York Giants head west this week to face the 7-1 San Francisco 49ers, leaders of the NFC West, sunday (4:15 p.m., FOX) The game is the second leg of an extremely difficult nine-week gauntlet of season-concluding games for the Giants, who lead the NFC East.
"The 49ers are a very good team," Giants coach Tom Coughlin said. "They're playing very well. They're a very physical team. They've demonstrated that multiple times this year. It'll take superior preparation and a superior game - high energy, physical game for us to travel out there and win at their place. That's the point that we'll make. Hopefully, if there are other positives to be drawn from other experiences, we'll call upon that during the course of the week."
The Giants have been established as 3.5-point underdogs by oddsmakers in the initial betting line. See all of the early lines on SB Nation's NFL Odds page sponsored by Odds Shark.
