The New Jersey Devils travel to Philadelphia tonight, where they will hope to turn things around after losing three games in a row and five of their last six. The game starts at 7:00 p.m. and will be aired locally on MSG Plus.
Johan Hedberg will get the start in goal for New Jersey after veteran Martin Brodeur made his return from a shoulder injury in Wednesday night's 5-3 home loss to Toronto. Hedberg will hope to get help from winger Patrik Elias, who has now scored eight points in 10 games.
The Devils will be in for a tough test against a Flyers team that seems to have gotten things in order since a 9-8 loss to Winnipeg last Thursday with a pair of wins in which they outscored opponents, 8-3. Since that debacle, the Flyers have gotten strong goal-tending from Ilya Bryzgalov, who has made 29 saves and given up three goals the past two games. Bryzgalov will be looking for a repeat performance from the Devils' home opener last month, in which he blanked New Jersey in a 3-0 Flyers victory.
