The New Jersey Nets have the abbreviated 2011-12 NBA season that begins on Christmas Day to convince star point guard Deron Williams to bypass free agency and remain with the team when they move to their new digs in Brooklyn for the 2012-13 season.
To do that, the Nets will have to upgrade the personnel around Williams, and they can begin trying to do so when NBA free agency opens Dec. 9.
What, exactly, will the Nets do. Well that, of course, remains to be seen. The rumor mill is already cranked up to full blast, though, and there are any number possibilities.
How about former New York Knicks and Atlanta Hawks guard Jamal Crawford as a scoring option at the two-guard?
Interested in Andrei Kirilenko? He might be interested in the Nets. There are reports that Glen Big Baby' Davis might also have eyes for New Jersey.
