Rex Ryan Apologizes For Cursing At Fan: 'I Made A Mistake'

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan apologizes for cursing out a fan during last Sunday's loss to the New England Patriots.

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan is in hot water (again).

During Sunday's losing effort to the New England Patriots, Ryan was verbally accosted by a fan as his team headed through the tunnel at halftime.

Here's what was said:

Fan: Hey Rex! Belichick is better than you!
Ryan: Shut the (expletive) up!

While the crowd got a chuckle from the exchange, the National Football League (NFL) isn't laughing. In fact, it's not Ryan's first offense. The hot-headed coach flipped off a Dolphins fan last year during a Strikeforce mixed martial arts event in Miami.

It cost him $50,000 in fines.

After word (and video) spread of his F-bomb, Ryan was quick to apologize for being "full of emotion" and "popping off" at the instigating fan (via The Jets Stream):

"I obviously made a mistake. I was full of emotion and just popped off. ... I apologize. I made a mistake."

Cursing out the fans wasn't the only mistake Ryan made on Sunday as evidenced by his team's 37-16 loss to the Pats. "Gang Green" will try to get things turned around this weekend against the Denver Broncos in Mile High Stadium.
