Michael Vick Injury: Broken Ribs Could Keep Him Out Of Giants' Game

Philadelphia Eagles' quarterback Michael Vick suffered broken ribs on Sunday in a 21-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals and appears unlikely to play this coming Sunday night against the New York Giants. Eagles coach Andy Reid made that announcement today. Vick apparently broke the ribs on the second play of the game and played through the injury.

The Giants will enter the game at 6-3, with a one-game lead over the 5-4 Dallas Cowboys in the NFC East. The 3-6 Eagles have now lost two straight after rebounding from a 1-4 start, and their season seems to be imploding. The Eagles were expected to contend for the Super Bowl following a series of splashy off-season moves. Instead, it appears they will fall far short of even making the playoffs.

If Vick does not play word is that Vince Young would be the likely starter at quarterback for Philadelphia.
