Devils Go For Four In A Row Against White, Sharks

Stay connected for news and updates

The New Jersey Devils are looking for their fourth straight win Friday night against the San Jose Sharks. The game marks defenseman Colin White's return to the Prudential Center after more than a decade in New Jersey.

The New Jersey Devils will go for their fourth straight win Friday night against the San Jose Sharks, and they'll be greeted with a familiar face when they step onto the Prudential Center Ice. That would be San Jose defenseman Colin White, who was released by the Devils over the offseason after 11 seasons with the Devils beginning in 1999.

White told the Newark Star-Ledger earlier today he doesn't have any hard feelings toward the Devils for buying him out of the final year of his contract and added that it was "an honor to play for the organization." White's current organization, on the other hand, is in a bit of a slump. The Sharks (1-3-0, 2 pts.) are off to their worst start in nine years and have lost five in a row in New Jersey.

The Devils (3-1-0, 6 pts.) come in riding a three-game win streak powered by forward Ilya Kovalchuk.Kovalchuk has four points in four games thus far and scored a power-play goal against Nashville before adding another in the penalty shootout of New Jersey's win this past Saturday. With starting goaltender Martin Brodeur still out with a shoulder injury, the Devils will once again turn to Johan Hedberg, who has yet to lose this season.
