If you are a fan of both the New York Giants and New York Yankees you have a problem this afternoon. Are you going to watch the Yankees face the Detroit Tigers in Game 2 of the American League Division Series? Or, are you going to watch the Giants take on the Arizona Cardinals in NFL action?
Due to Game 1 of the ALDS being suspended by rain and completed Saturday night -- when Game 2 was supposed to be played -- the Yankees and Tigers are on TNT Sunday with first pitch scheduled for 3:07 p.m. ET. The Giants and Cardinals will kick off on FOX at 4:05 p.m. ET.
What is a Giants/Yankees fan to do? Sure you can flip channels and try to watch both. You can picture-in-picture the action and try to keep whatever looks most interesting at the time in the full window. You can watch one and DVR the other. Shoot, you can flip back-and-forth and DVR both games, then go back and watch whatever key plays you missed while flipping later on. Some of you might even set up two TVs and try to watch both.
No matter what you do, it's an uncomfortable dilemma. While you're watching one, you know you will be wondering what is going on in the other game.
You can't really blame Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig for this one. He can't control Mother Nature. He also can't have the Yankees and Tigers play Sunday night, since they are traveling to play Game 3 in Detroit Monday night. Maybe a 1 p.m. ET start would be preferable for Yankees-Tigers, but that is probably my only quibble. Selig and TNT, though, probably do not want to go up directly against the NFL with a 1 p.m. start time.
Anyway, what are you going to do Yankees/Giants fans?
