The New Jersey Devils sent defenseman Mark Fayne to Albany of the AHL today and recalled defenseman Mark Fraser.
In 17 games with the Devils, Fayne recorded three points (two goals, one assist) and was a minus-8.
Fraser hasn't played for the Devils since Oct. 13 in Buffalo. On Oct. 14, Fraser had surgery to repair a fractured right hand. The Devils' defenseman completed a three game conditioning stint with Albany, where he recorded one assist.
While Fayne made the typical rookie mistakes, he played well for the Devils during his short stint. He flashed some offensive potential and wasn't afraid to take shots from the point. But Fraser brings experience and toughness to the lineup, something the Devils' defense is sorely lacking.
