LeBron James Won't Announce Decision Until Later This Week

The Bergen Record is reporting that the New Jersey Nets are in, but the New York Knicks are out of the final three teams in the hunt for superstar free agent LeBron James.

James won’t make his decision today as originally thought. His decision likely will come later this week, perhaps Wednesday night or Thursday. That’s the first day teams are permitted to sign free agents.

Although many Nets’ fans — and those whose teams are in the race — have been pulling out their hair waiting for James’ decision, the longer it goes could mean he’s leaning toward changing teams.

League sources said he’s deciding from among the Cavaliers, Bulls and Nets.

James will host his three-day Nike Skills Academy for the top high school players in his hometown of Akron beginning today. If he is leaving Cleveland and it became public, the camp would be ruined.

“If he was staying in Cleveland wouldn’t he do it now?” said an NBA source, confirming Wednesday might be the earliest the James’ decision is known.
