Isles Prospect Camp Scrimmage/Skills: Orange wins Scrimmage Half, 3-1

Stay connected for news and updates

There’s still time left to catch up for Team Blue in the skils competition, but Team Orange won the scrimmage portion, 3-1 in front of 4,940 hockey fans at the Nassau Coliseum.

Nino Niederreiter scored on a penalty shot in the third to seal the deal for Orange, on what can truly be described as a nasty move. He faked at least once with his leg and multiple times with his hands to school Brian Robins and make it 3-0.

Isles first round draft pick (30th Overall) Brock Nelson got Team Blue on the board midway through the third on a great pass from Tony DeHart. Blue pulled their goaltender with less than a minute to goal, but failed to score on Cody Rosen.

Joey Diamond, a native of Long Beach, NY, scored Team Orange’s other goal.

We’ll be back later tonight with a report from the skills competition and some interviews with the prospects!
