It is not turning out to be a banner day for New York athletes.
Today, a TMZ report showed that Mets pitcher Johan Santana was “accused in a police report of sexual battery” at a Florida golf course in October of 2009. A now anonymous accuser’s case was closed after a lack of evidence in December of 2009.
TMZ contacted a rep for Santana, who denied the charges, or that Johan was charged with anything. There are rumors that he Mets ace will give a statement later today.
